COURSE TITLE: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW-I) - PLATE
NOMINAL DURATION: 268 hrs.
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes in Shielded Metal Arc Welding in accordance with industry standards. It covers core competencies such as Setting-up Welding Equipment, Preparing Weld Materials, Fitting up Weld Materials, Welding Carbon Steel Plates Using SMAW and Repairing Welds.
At the end of this course, the student/trainee will be able to:
1. Weld carbon steel plates components.
2. Read blueprint
3. Fit-up weld joints
4. Prepare weld materials
5. Set-up welding machines
6. Do repair of welds
Trainees or students wishing to gain entry into this course should possess the following requirements:
· can communicate either oral and written
· physically and mentally fit
· with good moral character
· can perform basic mathematical computation

It covers core competencies such as Setting-up Welding Equipment, Preparing Weld Materials, Fitting up Welds Materials, Welding Carbon Steel Plates Using GTAW, Welding Carbon Steel Plates and Pipes Using GTAW and Repairing Welds.
At the end of this course, the student/trainee will be able to:

COURSE TITLE: Welding Inspector's Course
NOMINAL DURATION: 40 hrs.
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of Welding Inspector in accordance with industry standards. It covers core competencies such as Welding Defects, Welding Processes, Welding Terminologies, Destructive and Non Destructive Testing, Heat Treatment, Visual Inspection, Code and Standards, Weldability, Welder's Qualification, Welding Procedure Specification and Welding Safety.
At the end of this course, the student/trainee will be able to:
1. Conduct Visual Inspection on welds
2. Identify weld defects and material weldability
3. Know the Welding Inspector's Responsibilities
4. Familiarize the codes used in the industry
5. Qualify welders, prepare WPS
6. Familiarize the basic NDT, Destructive Testing and Heat Treatment
Trainees or students wishing to gain entry into this course should possess the following requirements:
· Preferably Engineering graduate or College graduate or 3rd Year Engineering
COURSE TITLE: Ultrasonic Testing Level I
NOMINAL DURATION: 24 hrs.
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of UT Technician Level I in accordance with industry standards. It covers core competencies such as Ultrasonic theory, Instrument operation, Inspection parameters, Thickness testing, Straight beam flaw detection and sizing. Calibration techniques for straight beam, dual element, delay-line, and angle beam transducers
At the end of this course, the student/trainee will be able to:
1. To conduct thickness gauging of materials
2. Familiarized UT operation
3. Calibrate UT equipment
Trainees or students wishing to gain entry into this course should possess the following requirements:
· Preferably Engineering graduate but other courses are acceptable and High school graduate is also acceptable
· physically and mentally fit
· can perform basic mathematical computation
COURSE TITLE: Ultrasonic Testing Level II
NOMINAL DURATION: 40 hrs.
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of UT Technician Level II in accordance with industry standards. It covers core competencies such as Angle beam Flaw location and Evaluation. Special instrument features, Equipment quality control, Flaw Sizing, Manufacturing processes, their flaws, and proper UT inspection
At the end of this course, the student/trainee will be able to:
1. To conduct flaw detection and defect sizing
2. Familiarized proper UT operation
3. Calibrate UT equipment
Trainees or students wishing to gain entry into this course should possess the following requirements:
· Holder of UT Level I Certificate
· physically and mentally fit
· can perform basic mathematical computation
